De-Matting in Eversley

Gentle, honest help with matted coats, with your dog's comfort first.

Who it suits

De-matting is for dogs whose coats have tangled or felted, which can happen quickly with long, curly and double coats, especially after wet walks. Mats pull on the skin and can be uncomfortable, so it is worth dealing with them early.

What's included

  • Assessment of the coat with you
  • An honest conversation about whether mats can be worked out or need clipping
  • Careful de-matting or clipping, at the dog's pace

What to expect on the day

The time needed varies with the coat. Helen will assess your dog first and talk through the options with you. Sometimes the kindest choice is to clip a coat short and let it grow back healthy rather than brush for hours.

Questions

Can you always brush mats out?

Not always. Tight mats close to the skin can be painful to brush out. Helen will tell you honestly what is best for your dog.

How can I stop mats coming back?

Regular brushing at home and grooming at the right interval make a big difference. Helen is happy to show you what works for your dog's coat.
